Recycling Old Clothes

Ever had clothes that you know you're not going to wear again, but can't bare to part with them? I have had this issue with a few pieces in a recent wardrobe clear-out. So, I decided I would hang on to them and create something else using the gorgeous fabrics. I had a few cushions that needed re-covering, which was the perfect way to put my old clothes to good use!

MAKEUP EMERGENCY

So, there I was on Monday morning, sleeply applying my eyeshadow and a flick of liner at the corners of my peepers when I suddenly realised that I hadn't packed my mascara in my makeup bag. I cannot live without my mascara - it would totally be my desert island product! So you can imagine my annoyance when I realised I was without it. It was especially annoying because I had done my makeup, too! If I had nothing on my eyes, I could have just worked the au naturale look. So, I quickly scrabbled around in my kit to find anything to intensify my lashes, even just a little. I think they turned out ok... 

I reached for my eyebrow spoolie, dabbed a bit of gel liner on it, ran it through my lashes and hey presto! I of course still felt a little naked in the eye area, but it certainly improved a dire situation! 

The lesson learnt here is, in a makeup emergency - be creative with what you have!

Outfit of the Day - Chilly BBQ

I went to a BBQ the other day. It was a little chilly in the evening so I opted for a summery but warm look. I'm loving monochrome at the moment. The jeans are from Zara, the top is from an independent store called Rock Bottom and my boots are from New Look.

Festival Chic

I went to Wireless festival yesterday. It was so much fun and we had great weather, which made it even better! After the music and great atmosphere, my favourite thing about festivals is the fashion! I always love checking out everyone's outfits. I think what I love about festival fashion is the effortlessness (even if we did spend weeks planning our outfits, it doesn't tend to look like it!)
